Getting Started

Welcome to Echoes: Echoes of the City. Echoes captures living memories by weaving together a photo, 30 seconds of ambient sound, the weather, and your location into a single moment you can revisit later on an immersive memory map.

Frequently Asked Questions

What devices and iOS versions are supported?

Echoes is built for iOS 26 and later, with full Liquid Glass, on-device ML, and Metal effects. iPhone 12 and newer are recommended for the best experience.

Does Echoes work offline?

Yes. Capturing, browsing, and playing back echoes all work fully offline. Weather data is fetched once at the moment of capture if you have a connection — if not, Echoes stores the echo without weather and fills it in later.

Where are my echoes stored?

On your device, in a private app container. We do not upload your photos, audio, or location to any server. If iCloud sync is enabled in a future update, it will be optional and use your own iCloud account.

How do I delete an echo?

Open the echo, tap the ··· menu, and choose Delete. Deletion is immediate and permanent — there is no recycle bin.

Can I export an echo?

Yes. From the echo detail view, tap Share to export the photo, the audio clip, or a combined video card to Photos, Messages, Mail, or any installed sharing target.

Is there an Android or web version?

Not currently. Echoes relies heavily on iOS 26-only frameworks (Liquid Glass, on-device ML, CoreHaptics, MapKit), so an Android version is not planned.

Which languages is Echoes available in?

11 languages at launch: English, Arabic (with RTL), German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, and Turkish.

I'm having a bug or crash. What should I do?

Please email us with your device model, iOS version, and a short description of what happened. If the app crashed, iOS crash reports (Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements → Analytics Data) are extremely helpful.

Privacy & Permissions

Echoes requests only the permissions it strictly needs: Camera and Microphone to capture echoes, and Location to anchor them on the map. Nothing is sent to external servers. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
